These are the beliefs of Truth Bible Church but in no way exhausts all that we believe. This is just a brief statement and if you have any further questions please contact us.

Scripture:The Bible is made up of sixty six books and is divided into two sections called the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is the inspired Word of God in the original manuscripts of Greek and Hebrew and is without error. Every word that God wanted the Biblical authors to write has been preserved for us today in thousands of ancient manuscripts, and has been copied into some faithful translations. Any translation that carefully, reverently, and skillfully seeks to reflect as close as possible the words of the original manuscripts is the Word of God. The Word of God is our sole source of authority in matters of faith and practice (Psalm 12:6; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

The Godhead: God is one yet exists as three distinct persons which are Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three are equally God and exist eternally as God. God is the Father of all believers. The Son is fully God and became a human being (Jesus) and still remains fully God and fully man. Jesus is the Creator of the world and sustainer of it. He was born of a sinful virgin yet remained sinless. He is the Messiah that was prophesied to come in the Old Testament. He is the Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world. He shed His blood on the cross as a perfect substitute for the sins of mankind. He bodily rose from the grave and ascended to the Father in Heaven where He sits on the right hand of the Father making intercession for all believers. The Holy Spirit is also fully God and is not a force, or energy, but is a personal Being. The Holy Spirit was involved with creation and the inspiration of the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter sent from the Father after Jesus ascended to Heaven. He is also the Teacher that would guide men into all truth. The Holy Spirit is the earnest (down payment) given to a believer to ensure his salvation. He indwells all believers and empowers them to do the will of God. The Holy Spirit can be grieved and quenched when believer’s disobey Him. He is also the giver of spiritual gifts to the church (Isaiah 9:6; Genesis 1:1-3; Psalm 139:6-10; Philippians 2:5-8; John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8; Hebrews 9:14; John 14:26; Ephesians 1:13-14).
-
Creation: God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days and rested on the seventh day. On the sixth day of creation He formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into His nostrils the breath of life. God is not only the Creator of all things but He also holds all things together for the praise of His glory (Genesis 1:1; Revelation 4:11; Job 33:4; John 1:3).
-
Man and Sin: Man was created as a perfect being in the image of God. Because of man’s disobedience to God’s commands, he was punished and forced to reap the consequences of his actions. Because of man’s fall, his sentence of death was passed down to all humans who would come after him, thereby causing all humans to be dead in their sins from birth and accountable to God. Sin is the willful or unintentional disobedience of God’s clear commands. Because God is a holy God He cannot allow sin in His presence and must pass the death sentence on all mankind (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; Psalm 51:5; Romans 5:12-19).
-
Salvation: God in His infinite and matchless grace and mercy provided a way for men to have forgiveness of sins. God in His mercy determined to save some men from their sins, but at the same time holds all men responsible to believe the Gospel. God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility is a paradox that cannot be totally explained or understood, but the Bible teaches both aspects of salvation. Salvation is by grace through faith alone. When a person realizes his sinful condition before God, he repents of his sins and by faith believes the Gospel that Jesus Christ provided forgiveness of sins by His death on the cross. At the point of conversion the person is justified (declared righteous before God) and is simultaneously regenerated (born again by the Holy Spirit). Once a person becomes a believer he is sealed until the day of redemption. Upon salvation the believer becomes more like Christ through a process called sanctification. (John 3:16; Psalm 51:2-4; Ephesians 2:1; Ephesians 1:4-5; Romans 2:4; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 4:2-8; Jude 2-25; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57).

The Church: The church was originally founded during the book of Acts and is made up of all believers in Christ thereafter. The church is the Bride of Christ which will one day be presented to Him as His holy bride. The church is also known as a local body of professing believers in a certain location. Christ is the head of the church and has ordained that godly men be responsible in overseeing the church. God gave special men called pastors (i.e. elders) to the church to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. The church exists for the glory of God to carry out the Great Commission. It also practices two ordinances known as Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is available for all believers who are currently walking in obedience with God and their fellow brothers in Christ. It is a special time of remembrance of the death of the Lord Jesus. Baptism is an act of obedience where a believer after conversion identifies Himself with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It also symbolizes that a believer has turned from his sins to follow Christ. Baptism by immersion is the best way to picture the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and is the mode which will be practiced at this church. Neither baptism nor the Lord’s Supper have any merits of grace with God and are simply acts of obedience (Matthew 16:18; Matthew 13; Ephesians 5:25-27; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

Satan and Demons: Satan is the enemy of God and is the fallen angel from Heaven which pulled a third of the angels down with him. Satan is the father of all lies and is the spirit that works in the children of disobedience. He is the god of this world that blinds men’s minds from knowing the truths of the Gospel. Demons are fallen angels that are regularly at work in deceiving men and opposing God. Both Satan as well as demons will one day be punished for all eternity (Matthew 13:19; Ephesians 2:2; 2 Corinthians 4:4; John 8:44; Luke 10:18; Ephesians 6:12; Revelation 20:10).
-
Heaven and Hell: Heaven is the dwelling place of God, His angels, and all believers. One day a city called the New Jerusalem will descend from Heaven, and all believers will dwell there with God forever. Hell is a literal place of fire and eternal torment where unbelievers will reside because of their sins and refusal of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We reject any teachings of universal salvation. (Revelation 21:1-4; Revelation 20:14-15; Revelation 21:8).
-
End Times: After the believers are taken out of this world (i.e. raptured) God will send judgments for a period of seven years called the Great Tribulation. At the end of this period Christ will come with all believers to the earth to set up His literal kingdom and will reign from His throne for one thousand years. Satan will be bound during this time and after will be released for one last attempt to overthrow Christ. Satan will be cast into the Lake of Fire and the present earth and heavens will be destroyed with fire. Christ will make a new heaven and earth and all believers will dwell with Him forever (Matthew 24; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Revelation 6-22) .

Separation and Unity: Because God is holy He expects all of His children to live holy lives. God wants His children to be separate from all forms of worldliness and sinful practices. He has also called us to be separate from willfully disobedient brothers, as well as false teachers. God has made it clear in His Word that we are to reject anyone who brings a false Gospel. At the same time, believers are to maintain unity with one another as much as possible. (1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Corinthians 5: 2; Corinthians 6:14-7:1; Romans 12:18; Psalm 133:1; Ephesians 4:1-16).
-
Charismatic Movement: We do not believe that there is a second baptism of the Holy Spirit that is evidenced by special sign gifts (tongues, healings, etc.). God gave the sign gifts to the church for a specific time and purpose. The practice of these sign gifts is not normative in the church today. We do, however, believe that today every believer at the moment of salvation has been given by the Spirit at least one of the non-sign gifts and these gifts are to be practiced (1 Corinthians 12:12; 2 Corinthians 12:12; Hebrews 2:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-4:2).

Human Sexuality: Any form of sexual contact or practices outside of a marriage between a man and a woman are perversions of God’s intended purpose of sex and are condemned by God. Any form of fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, incest, bestiality, and pornography are clear violations of Scripture (Leviticus 18; Exodus 20:14; Matthew 5:28; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:12-20; Ephesians 5:1-13; Galatians 5:16-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4; 1 John 2:15-17; Revelation 21:8). We thank God that forgiveness is available to us through Jesus Christ. "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 ESV)
